Having won 8 out of 12 games up to this point, the Hawks appear to be bound for another year in the race for home-court advantage and are confident to keep up their high level of play throughout the season. Thus, Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks will try to secure a win when they meet the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday at midnight GMT.
While the Nets' 4-7 record might not seem all that impressive, one should take into account that the team around Brook Lopez won just 12 games in the entire 2009-10 season. In other words, New Jersey has shown considerable improvement and could be on its way to become a legitimate playoff team. That said, the Nets' stagnant offense remains an area of concern as coach Avery Johnson's squad is the worst offensive team in the NBA at just 92 points per contest. Nonetheless, point guard Devin Harris remains a solid go-to-guy and put up 17.9 points and 6.9 assists in 31 minutes per game. However, New Jersey will probably have a tough time competing with the Hawks on Wednesday night. Ultimately, Joe Johnson and company do not only have more individual talent on board but are also much more explosive at the offensive end of the floor.
