Although the Knicks are confident to contend for a championship in the not too distant future, their short rotation and lack of impact players off the bench is evidently a tough obstacle to overcome in 2010-11. Nonetheless, the New York Knicks will try to get a win at home when they host Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics on Friday at 11 p.m. GMT.

Whereas there is no doubt that the Celtics are one of the favorites to win it all in this year’s NBA campaign, the franchise from Massachusetts did not get an easy draw in the post-season. More specifically, they had a tough time securing a victory over the Knicks in game one who were led by All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire. Surprisingly, New York performed fairly well at the defensive end of the floor and made life difficult for Boston all game long. That said, the fact that the Knicks have no real center on their roster made things a bit easier for the Celtics who are still trying to adapt to the absence of Kendrick Perkins who was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder seven weeks ago. Either way, basketball fans should not miss the exciting match-up between Boston and New York in game three of the first playoff round on Friday night.

Although the Knicks experienced some problems early in the season, the team around All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire subsequently pulled its act together as they rallied to a 14-11 record and the fifth place in the East. Therefore, fans around the NBA can expect a hard-nosed battle between the Celtics and Knicks at MSG on Thursday night.
