Losing their first road game of the series 96-117 versus Orlando on Friday, Doc Rivers’ Celtics team will have to elevate their game in the next meeting at Amway Arena. On Monday at 1 a.m. GMT, the Orlando Magic will host Boston on their home court for game four of the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

Although the Celtics’ bench gave the team a lift with a respectable total of 29 points, it was not enough to overcome Dwight Howard and the Magic. Boston’s key player Ray Allen had another quiet night with only 8 points on 3-of-13 shooting. All-star Paul Pierce had a team high 27 points but was not shooting particularly well from the field either.

The Magic led throughout the game, even though Boston was able to close the gap to single-digits in the third quarter. However, the Magic defense kept Boston from coming any closer and was able to initiate multiple fast-break attacks off turnovers in the fourth quarter when Dwight Howard had to sit with five fouls. Rashard Lewis led the Magic with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists while Hedo Turkoglu added 24 points and 4 assists. Back-up point guard Anthony Johnson did a remarkable job starting for the suspended Rafer Alston and finished the game with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting and 4 assists.

Heading to game four with a 2-1 lead over Boston the Orlando Magic are very confident to extend their lead on Monday. Despite being short-handed in game three the team from Florida showed that they have the depth and discipline to make it deep into the post-season. The Celtics on the other hand appear to struggle whenever one player of their scoring trio, consisting of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo, struggles.
