After an amazing overtime thriller on Saturday afternoon, the Boston Celtics will host the Chicago Bulls for the second game of the series on Monday 12 p.m. GMT. Even though the first game was expected to be close, the 105-103 road win for the Bulls remains the first upset in this year’s NBA playoffs.

Some might have had doubts about the ability of rookie guard Derrick Rose to step up and lead the team during the post-season, but he certainly has shown his impressive potential on Saturday at Boston Garden. With a total of 36 points and 11 assists Rose underlined his ambitions to claim the rookie of the year award and led the Bulls to their first playoff win of the past few years.

One major drawback for the reigning NBA champions Boston is the fact that the injured all-star Kevin Garnett was not able to play. His exact status is still up in the air, but it appears to be likely that he will be out for the remainder of this first round series. Nonetheless, the Celtics do have enough talent and experience to come back and play better in the next game on Monday night. Especially all-star Ray Allen can be expected to be a bigger scoring threat than in game one where he had a rather disappointing performance shooting only 1-of-12 from the field.

Without any doubts, the second game is a must-win for Boston, they have already lost home-court advantage but loosing another home game would make a second round appearance fairly unlikely. One key to success will be Boston’s ability to contain Derrick Rose as well as the Bulls’ other two primary offensive threats Ben Gordon and John Salmons. Likewise, with Garnett being sidelined other players will have to pick up some slack and avoid Boston’s offense solely relying on Rondo, Pierce and Allen.
