Having started their seven game road trip with a clutch win in Houston, the shorthanded Bulls are hoping to avoid a setback while waiting for All-Star Carlos Boozer to recover from a hand injury. Thus, the Chicago Bulls will meet Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday at 2:30 a.m. GMT.
Where as the Mavs’ home losses to the Grizzlies and Nuggets raised some questions regarding the shape of Rick Carlisle’s squad early in the season, Dallas has constantly been elevating its level of play since opening night. More precisely, the Mavericks just secured a crucial 98-95 over the previously undefeated Hornets. Especially Dallas’ performance at the defensive end of the floor has been terrific, in fact, Dirk Nowitzki and company allow just 92 points per contest while holding their opponents to just 42% shooting from the floor. Likewise, sixth man Jason Terry has been an impact player off the bench, putting up 19.7 points, 4.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game so far. Therefore, the Mavericks can be considered favorites to get their eight win of the season versus the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night.

Without any doubts, Bulls' fans around the globe were very excited when the franchise from Illinois managed to acquire All-Star forward Carlos Boozer this off-season. Unfortunately, Boozer broke his hand last weekend and will most likely miss about two months of action down the stretch. Hoping to get off to a good start nonetheless, the Chicago Bulls will face Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks on Friday at 0:30 a.m. GMT.
The Mavs on the other hand opted to settle for a few minor tweaks as GM Donnie Nelson added Tyson Chandler as back-up center and picked up rookie guard Dominique Jones. Considering that Dallas acquired Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson just before the trade deadline last season, the Mavericks' front-office believes that a full training camp together will help Rick Carlisle's squad to play up to its potential in 2010-11. Similarly, sophomore shooting guard Rodrigue Beaubois is expected to continue to improve and to make his way into the starting five. While it remains to be seen whether the Mavs will be able to become a contender, they will enter their encounter with the Chicago Bulls as everyone's favorites to clinch a win on Friday night.
