After some ups and downs last year, the Bulls decided to make some major roster changes in the off-season and are confidently looking forward to the upcoming NBA season. Thus, Carlos Boozer and the Chicago Bulls will take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday at 0:30 a.m. GMT.

Coming off a surprisingly good performance in 2009-10, the Bucks also made some tweaks this summer in order to establish themselves in the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference. More precisely, the franchise from Wisconsin added high-scoring swingman Corey Maggette, forward-center Drew Gooden and shooting guard Keyon Dooling. Considering that sophomore point guard Brandon Jennings can be expected to continue to improve, Milwaukee should be able to count on a very competitive squad in 2010-11. Therefore, the Bucks should have a reasonable chance to overcome Carlos Boozer and company on Wednesday night. Even though Boozer will be joined by the likes of Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, Milwaukee will most likely make life difficult for the Bulls.

Despite very few positive predictions for the Bucks prior to the season, Milwaukee got off to a pretty decent start and is right in the playoff mix of the Eastern Conference. Thus, Brandon Jennings and company will host the Chicago Bulls at Bradley Center on Tuesday at 1 a.m. GMT.

Without any doubts, the Bulls are not overly content with their performance in the first month of play. In fact, the team around sophomore guard Derrick Rose dropped four straight and is holding on to a mediocre 6-8 record. While it looked like Chicago might actually have improved with Luol Deng back in uniform and Ben Gordon not on the team anymore, the last two weeks raised some questions around the franchise from Illinois. Most importantly, the Bulls seem to lack the scoring to become one of the better teams in the East. In fact, Vinny del Negro’s squad only put up 91 points per contest, surprisingly they still managed to win six games despite their stagnant offense. However, in the long run the Bulls will have to find a way to score more consistently, otherwise their fairly decent defense will not get them far.

In contrast, the Milwaukee Bucks exceeded nearly everyone’s expectation with their entertaining and successful basketball in the opening month of this year’s NBA campaign. Albeit the Bucks dropped two straight last week, they are still hanging on to a respectable 8-5 record and a sixth place in the Eastern Conference. Even though Richard Jefferson, Ramon Sessions and Charlie Villanueva might be gone, the arrival of rookie point guard Brandon Jennings had a huge impact on the previously struggling franchise from Wisconsin. So far, Jennings averaged 23.4 points, 5.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals while shooting a whopping 47% from beyond the arc. With his outstanding performance and ability to find the open teammate, the rookie made players around him better and seems to facilitate the development of the Bucks’ big men Ersan Ilyasova and Andrew Bogut. Considering that Michael Redd is still out with a knee injury, Milwaukee might become an even better team once the former All-Star shooting guard returns to the floor. In conclusion, it looks like Chicago is about to face another tough challenge when the game between the Bucks and Bulls gets underway on Tuesday. Although both teams have a similar level of talent on board, the Bucks seemed to click much better thus far while the Bulls appear to be out of sync at times.
