With Chris Bosh and Hedo Turkoglu gone, the Raptors decided to change substantial parts of their roster and are entering this year's NBA campaign with a group of young players who have shown a lot of potential in the preseason. Before the Bulls' training camp got underway, hardly anyone thought that Omer Asik could get much playing time in Chicago's front-court featuring Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson. Yet, with Boozer sidelined by a broken hand, the Turkish power forward took advantage of his opportunity and showed that he is an excellent low-post defender and can dominate the boards. So far, Asik has been averaging 5.3 points and 6.0 rebounds in just 18 minutes per contest. Moreover, the Bulls have evidently been working on pushing the ball in transition to take advantage of Derrick Rose's quickness. Taking everything into account, Chicago might have a slight edge over Toronto but should not underestimate the overhauled Raptors.
