Considering that the Cavs played excellent basketball all year long and entered the playoffs as number one overall seed, it was no surprise to see LeBron James and company taking the Eastern Conference quarterfinals series lead on Saturday. Thus, the Cleveland Cavaliers will be looking for their third win when they take on Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls on Thursday at 11 p.m. GMT.

The Bulls on the other hand are fairly happy to even be in the playoffs as they just clinched the eight playoff seed in the East in their last regular season game. Nonetheless, coach Vinny del Negro's squad should not be underestimated as they demonstrated in 2008-09 by taking the Boston Celtics all the way to game seven in the first playoff round. Yet, the primary goal of the Bulls remains the free agency bonanza over the summer, after all the franchise from Illinois has no less than $24 million of capspace available.

In contrast, the Cavs are certainly more concerned with making a championship run right now than hoping for things to swing their way in the off-season. Most importantly, the Cavaliers invested a lot of money in providing LeBron James with a decent supporting cast and will most likely have to clinch a title in 2009-10 to keep the All-Star and reigning MVP in Ohio. In 76 regular season games, James averaged 29.7 points, 8.6 assists, 7.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per contest. Likewise, off-guard Anthony Parker turned out to be a great fit for the Cavs' offensive system and knocked down 42% of his shots from beyond the arc. Taking everything into account, the Cavaliers are undoubtedly everyone's favorites to clinch a win versus Chicago on Thursday night. Yet, the Bulls have shown that they can play well at the defensive end of the floor and could give the Cavs a run for their money if they have one of their better offensive nights.
