Even though the revamped Cavs struggled a bit in the first weeks of play, the team around LeBron James quickly got their act together and subsequently rallied to the top of the Eastern Conference. Thus, the Cleveland Cavaliers will make their way to Oakland to face the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday at 3:30 a.m. GMT.

Unlike the Cavaliers, the Warriors did not get off to the start they were hoping for and find themselves out of the playoff picture with a disappointing 10-24 record. Like in the past, Golden State Warriors was unable to show any consistent effort on the defensive end of the floor and is once again the worst defensive team in the league allowing a whopping 112 points per contest. Even though the team around Monta Ellis had no trouble finding the basket, it appears to be unlikely that any measurable progress will take place in Oakland until Don Nelson squad manages to prevent their opponents from scoring at will.

In contrast, the Cavs are once among the best teams in the league and are hoping finally get the championship ring they have been chasing for nearly a decade. Holding on to an impressive 28-9 record, LeBron James and company played very well at both ends of the floor and look more comfortable with Shaquille O’Neal in the mix than earlier in the season. Likewise, the addition of shooting guard Anthony Parker turned out to be a great fit as provides the team with even more perimeter defense and excellent outside shooting at 47% from beyond the arc. Possibly on his way to another MVP award, All-Star LeBron James put up 28.7 points, 7.8 assists, 7.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Taking said circumstances into account, there appears to be no doubt that the Cavs will enter their matchup with the Warriors as everyone’s favorites to clinch a win on the road. Albeit Golden State can put up as many points as anyone in the league, their horrendous defense will most likely prevent them from overcoming Cleveland.
