While there is no doubt that the Thunder is a promising team that could very well be on its way to a 50-win season, very few thought that Oklahoma would be able to come away with a win in Boston last week. More specifically, the franchise was without All-Star Kevin Durant, yet, they managed to secure a 89-84 win versus the defending Eastern Conference champions. Thus, the Oklahoma City Thunder will be looking for another victory when Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks are in town on Thursday at 1 a.m. GMT.
In contrast, the Mavs' front-office was not exactly thrilled when the team around Dirk Nowitzki dropped two straight versus the Bulls and Hornets last week. That said, Dallas was able to bounce back with a clutch road win in Atlanta and is still right in the race for home-court advantage. One positive factor in the first month of regular season action has been off-season addition Tyson Chandler who put up 8.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in just 26 minutes per game. Taking everything into consideration, the Mavs might have a slight advantage over the shorthanded Thunder on Thursday night.
