Albeit the Mavs might just be 3-3 in the preseason, one should take into account that coach Rick Carlisle chose to give his backup player extended minutes versus opponents' starters which evidently made things more difficult. Nonetheless, Dallas showed that they are one of the deepest teams in the league and will most likely enter this year's NBA campaign with Shawn Marion, Jason Terry and Tyson Chandler coming off the bench. Even though the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics became even better in the off-season, the Magic can still be expected to battle for the number one seed in the East in 2010-11. Especially JJ Reddick has been improving by leaps and bounds, averaging 14.5 points, 3.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 29 minutes per contest.
