Dallas Mavericks v San Antonio Spurs Live
While the Bobcats have posted a mediocre 14-21 record, Stephen Jackson and company are still trailing the eight seeded Philadelphia 76ers by just one game. Thus, the Charlotte Bobcats will try to avoid another road loss when they take on Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics on Saturday at 0:30 a.m. GMT.
Albeit the Celtics dropped two straight versus the Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets earlier this week, the team around All-Star Paul Pierce is still in an excellent position going forward as they are holding on to a 28-9 record after three months of regular season play. That said, Boston’s ability to rebound the ball remains an issue as they are the worst rebounding team in the entire league. Even though Kendrick Perkins should help to address said problem once he is back on the floor, the Celtics have to do a better job at crushing the boards. Either way, provided that Rajon Rondo and company play up to their potential, they should be able to secure a win versus the Bobcats on Saturday night.

Before this year’s NBA campaign got underway, one could hear basketball analysts repeatedly pointing to the Spurs’ aging core around Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili as a likely reason for decline in 2010-11. Yet, San Antonio’s veteran team has been playing terrific in the first month of regular season play and leads the entire league with an impressive 12-1 record. Thus, the San Antonio Spurs will be highly motivated to keep their winning streak alive when they face Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday at 1:30 a.m. GMT.
The Mavs on the other hand have not been as dominant as they were hoping to be early in the season and already experienced several questionable home losses. Nonetheless, their overall performance was still solid and resulted into an 8-4 record in the tough Southwest Division. One area in which the Mavericks were able to improve were their defensive efforts as coach Rick Carlisle’s squad has been the 4th best defensive team, allowing just 92.3 points per game. Taking the experience and individual talent of both teams into consideration, the encounter between the Spurs and Mavs could still be anyone’s game on Saturday night.
