Given the fact that the Nuggets have basically been playing without any size in their front-court, coach George Karl's squad did a fairly decent job of staying competitive as they posted a 2-2 record to start the season. Hoping to climb above the .500 mark, Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets will meet the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday at 11 p.m. GMT.
The Pacers on the other hand surprised many fans around the league with their solid performance in the first two weeks of regular season action. Albeit Indiana won just two out of five games, the team around Danny Granger has been playing much better basketball than in recent years and could be on its way to become a legitimate playoff team. Most importantly, the Pacers' young prospects Roy Hibbert and Darren Collison demonstrated that they are blossoming into excellent offensive players. In this sense, Indiana might be able to make things more difficult than expected for Carmelo Anthony and company on Tuesday night.

Although the Nuggets had to start the season with J.R. Smith being suspended, Carmello Anthony and company still got off to a great start in this year’s NBA campaign. Thus, Denver will confidently travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers on Wednesday at midnight GMT.
In contrast, the Indiana Pacers stumbled out of the gates and dropped two straight versus the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat. Most importantly, Mike Dunleavy is still sidelined with an injury and was sorely missed in the first week of play. Even though the Pacers brought in the defensive minded shooting guard Dahntay Jones they also had to let starting point guard Jarret Jack walk during the off-season. So far, the only bright spot for Indiana has been the performance of Danny Granger who put up 26.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest.
Unlike the Pacers, the Denver Nuggets are coming off a great start and are holding on to a three game winning streak. Despite the absence of J.R. Smith, George Karl’s squad looked very sharp and played exceptionally well at the offensive end of the floor. Putting up 113 points per game, the Nuggets had no trouble scoring as they steamrolled the Memphis Grizzlies, Utah Jazz and Portland Trailblazers. One positive surprise for the franchise from Colorado has been the performance of rookie Ty Lawson who found a place in Karl’s rotation and averaged 10.7 points, 3.3 assists and 2.0 rebounds in limited minutes off the bench. Likewise, franchise cornerstone Carmello Anthony has been on fire in the first week of action and posted an impressive 37.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Considering the shape of both teams, the Nuggets certainly appear to have an edge over the struggling Pacers. While both teams lack one key player, Denver still has more talent on their roster and a significantly deeper bench than Indiana. That said, the Pacers will count on their home crowd to carry them to a desperately needed win.
