With Carmelo Anthony about to get traded within the next months, the Nuggets struggled to perform consistently and fell to the seventh place in the Eastern Conference after road losses to the Charlotte Bobcats and Boston Celtics. Hoping to avoid another setback, the Denver Nuggets will try to defeat Amar’e Stoudemire and the New York Knicks on Monday at 5 a.m. GMT.

While the Knicks’ performance did not look all that amazing in the first few weeks of play, coach Mike D’Antoni’s squad elevated its level of play drastically as the season went on. Holding on to a 14-9 record, New York established itself in the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference and showcased some exciting up-tempo basketball. Especially off-season addition Amar’e Stoudemire emerged as a legitimate leader on and off the floor and was the motor of the Knicks’ offense at 25.7 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.9 blocks per game. Therefore, the Nuggets will most likely have to pull off one of their better performances to avoid a loss on Monday night.
