Detroit Pistons                          Miami Heat
Saturday 29th January 00:30 - 03:00 GMT

Albeit the Pistons posted a poor 17-28 record in the first half of this year’s NBA campaign, head coach John Kuester’s squad is still in the race for a playoff berth and trails the eight ranked Milwaukee Bucks by just 1.5 games. Thus, the Detroit Pistons will try to avoid loss on the road when they take on Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat on Saturday at 0:30 a.m. GMT.

While there is no doubt that the Heat are one of the favorites to win it all in 2010-11, Chris Bosh’s knee injury underlined Miami’s lack of depth across the board. In fact, the team around LeBron James and Dwayne Wade dropped four of their last five games and struggled to deliver with a shorthanded squad. That said, it should be mentioned that their losses happened versus excellent teams and were highly contested. Offensively, LeBron James has been very dominant, averaging 25.9 points, 7.2 assists, 7.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals per contest. Considering the Heat’s individual talent and excellent performance up to this point, anything else than a comfortable win over the Pistons would be a huge upset on Saturday night.

Considering that the Pistons were alarmingly close to the bottom of the Eastern Conference last year, the franchise from Michigan is certainly hoping for a turnaround in 2010-11. Unfortunately, the Detroit Pistons will probably have a hard time avoiding a defeat when they take on LeBron James and the Miami Heat on Tuesday at 11 p.m. GMT.

The Miami Heat on the other hand find themselves in a position to win it all this year after adding LeBron James and Chris Bosh over the summer. Arguably one of the best trios in NBA history, All-Stars Dwayne Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh are hoping to carry their supporting cast to multiple championship rings over the next years. Considering that the Heat also have veterans such as Mike Miller and Zydrunas Ilgauskas on board, they appear to be the team to beat in the Eastern Conference, barring injuries that is. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the Pistons will be able to give the Heat a run for their money on Tuesday night. Albeit seventh overall pick Greg Monroe will make Detroit a bit more competitive, it will most likely not be enough to overcome Dwayne Wade and company.
