Given the fact that the Pacers spent several years in the lottery, Danny Granger and company are certainly content with the way things have panned out this season. Hoping to pull off an upset in the first round of the playoffs, the Indiana Pacers will travel to Illinois to face Carlos Boozer and the Chicago Bulls on Saturday at 5 p.m. GMT.

Considering that the Bulls were unable to use their cap space to sign Chris Bosh or Lebron James last summer, very few expected the team around Derrick Rose to dominate the Eastern Conference in 2010-11. Yet, Carlos Boozer turned out to be an excellent pickup while Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah have been improving by leaps and bounds throughout the year. Likewise, it should be mentioned that the Bulls experienced injuries to several key players but still managed to feed off their excellent team defense to close out contested games. Arguably the best point guard in the league at this point, All-Star Derrick Rose led his team averaging no less than 25.1 points, 7.8 assists and 4.1 rebounds per contest. Taking Chicago’s outstanding performance at both ends of the floor into account, coach Tom Thibodeau’s squad should have an edge over the Pacers on Saturday night.

Albeit the Bulls posted a rather unsatisfying 2-4 record in the preseason so far, it should be mentioned that the franchise from Illinois is still without the injured Carlos Boozer. Similarly, Tom Thibodeau's primary focus was implementing changes in Chicago's offensive sets which inevitably takes some time to get everyone on the same page. Thus, Joakim Noah and the Chicago Bulls will host the Indiana Pacers on Saturday at 11 p.m. GMT.

Where as the Pacers struggled in the first preseason week as they lost three in a row, the team around Danny Granger seems to be slowly adapting to their new starting point guard Darren Collison. In fact, Collison was Indiana's primary offensive weapon when they managed to win back-to-back games versus the Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Hornets earlier this week. Likewise, center prospect Roy Hibbert evidently worked on his game over the summer and put up no less than 15.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per contest. Considering these developments, the Pacers might not be the easy opponent the Chicago Bulls are expecting on Saturday night.
