Coming off a rather disappointing year and an unsatisfying 32-50 record, the Indiana Pacers are hoping to get back on track after acquiring sophomore point guard Darren Collison this summer. In their first preseason match, the Indiana Pacers will face Rudy Gay and the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday at midnight GMT.

Unlike Indiana, the Grizzlies' front-office is pleased with the progress of Rudy Gay and company last year, even though the team once again missed the post-season. Yet, Memphis Grizzlies posted a respectable 40-42 record in the tough Southwest division and played much better basketball than in the past. After resigning franchise cornerstone Rudy Gay to a five-year deal, the Grizzlies are hoping for a playoff appearance in 2010-11. Even though Memphis had a fairly quiet off-season, coach Lionel Hollins is hoping for first-round picks Xavier Henry and Greivis Vasquez to contribute right away and increase Memphis' depth down the stretch. Taking everything into consideration, the Grizzlies will most likely have a slight edge over the Pacers on Thursday night, but might have to bring their A-game to secure a win.
