Being right at the .500 mark, the Suns were able to recover from their slow start into the season but have yet to show that they are a legitimate playoff team. Thus, Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns will take on the struggling Los Angeles Clippers at US Airways Center on Saturday at 2 a.m. GMT.

Prior to this year’s NBA campaign many experts thought that the Clippers would finally be able to make some progress and compete for a playoff berth in 2010-11. Yet, the franchise from California once again failed to live up to its own expectations as they stumbled to a devastating 2-13 record in the first month of regular season play. One reason for their struggles has been the relatively poor play of point guard Baron Davis who came into training camp overweight and showed little motivation to become the leader Los Angeles was looking for. That said, rookie forward-center Blake Griffin has been everything coach Vinny Del Negro was hoping for and put up 18.9 points, 11.0 boards and 2.3 assists per game. Therefore, the Clippers might actually have a better shot at defeating the Suns on Saturday than their poor record might indicate.
