Although the Clippers failed to clinch a win in their season opener versus Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, the team looked significantly better than last year. In their second game of this year's NBA campaign, the team around Baron Davis and Marcus Camby is about to face another tough challenge on the road when the game between the Jazz and Clippers gets underway on Saturday at 1 a.m. GMT.

Without any doubts, the Los Angeles Clippers camp was very excited about having a healthy squad for once and was looking forward to being in the playoff race in 2009-10. Moreover, the performance of number one overall pick Blake Griffin in the preseason pointed to a very bright future for the franchise's front court. Unfortunately, Griffin suffered a stress fracture in his right knee last week and will most likely be out for up to six weeks. Nonetheless, the team did fairly well versus the almighty Los Angeles Lakers in their season opener and kept the game reasonably close until late in the fourth quarter. Especially Chirs Kaman seemed to be in excellent shape as he scored 18 points and secured 16 rebounds.

The Utah Jazz on the other hand are hoping to continue their dominance at home. Albeit some argue that Utah's outstanding home record is partially due to the altitude in Salt Lake City, there is no doubt that the Jazz fans are among the loudest in the league. Led by Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer, the squad of Jerry Sloan will certainly be in the playoff race and will try to get off to a good start in their second game of the season on Saturday night. Even though the Jazz might have better odds to leave the court with a victory, the Los Angeles Clippers can be expected to give the Jazz a run for their money.
