Coming off three losses in four preseason games, the Hawks are not particularly thrilled with their their performance up to this point. However, rookie guard Jordan Crawford looked like a nice pickup in the off-season and could become a substantial part of Joe Johnson's supporting cast. Thus, the Atlanta Hawks will host LeBron James and the Miami Heat on Friday at midnight GMT.

Although some might be surprised that the Heat already dropped three preseason games, one should not overestimate the implications of said losses. After all, Miami had to play without franchise centerpiece Dwayne Wade, where as Chris Bosh and LeBron James did not play a lot of minutes either. Most importantly, the Heat is trying to figure out which role players will get extended playing time behind the franchise's star trio. That said, former MVP LeBron James put up 18.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds in just 24 minutes per contest nonetheless. Therefore, the Heat will enter their road game versus the Atlanta Hawks as undisputed favorites to secure their fourth preseason victory on Friday night.

The Miami Heat are on pace to wind up as the 5th side in the NBA's Eastern Conference. Through 78 games the club had struggled to a record of 41 wins and 37 losses with the bulk of the club's struggles coming away from home where they managed a record of 15 wins and 24 losses. Despite a squad featuring the likes of Dwayne Wade, Jermaine O'Neal and Jamario Moon, head coach Erik Spoelstra has been accused of leading a team of underachievers.

It has been an entirely different story for the visiting Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks balanced play sees them in second place of the NBA Southeast Division behind the division champion Orlando Magic. Through their first 78 games of the season the team that plays its home games at the Philips Arena were 44-34 under head coach Michale Woodson. The starting 5 of Al Horford, Joe Johnson, Mike Bibby, Maurice Evans and Josh Smith has provided the team with consistency on the offensive end and a balanced defense.
