Considering the Hornets' poor performance in the preseason, very few expected the team around Chris Paul to win three in a row to start the 2010-11 season. Yet, the New Orleans Hornets have been playing excellent basketball at both ends of the floor and will try to secure another win when Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat are in town on Saturday at midnight GMT.
Although the Heat started this year's NBA campaign with a loss in Boston, LeBron James and company subsequently bounced back with three big wins versus the Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic and New Jersey Nets. Considering that Dwayne Wade and LeBron James have been playing together for little more than a week, fans around the league can expect the Heat to improve by leaps and bounds as the season goes on. That said, one area of concern remains the performance of All-Star forward Chris Bosh who has been averaging just 13.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game up to this point. Nonetheless, there is no doubt that the Heat will be everyone's favorites when their encounter with the Hornets gets underway on Saturday night.

Coming off a 40-point loss versus the Magic, Chris Paul and the Hornets have to prove that they are indeed a better team after bringing in Trevor Ariza from the Houston Rockets in the off-season. Similarly, neither Marcus Thornton nor Marco Belinelli have been able to show that they should be the starting 2-guard instead of Peja Stojakovic on opening night. Especially Thornton has been struggling, shooting a whopping 4-of-25 from the floor so far. Thus, the New Orleans Hornets will try to snap a two game losing skid when they meet LeBron James and the Miami Heat on Thursday at midnight GMT.
Considering all the hype around LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami, the All-Star trio is definitely under a lot of pressure to win it all in their first year in South Beach. As far as their preseason performance is concerned, the Heat pulled off two convincing wins versus the Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons before a 73-90 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. That said, Dwayne Wade is still sidelined by an injury which obviously made things more difficult for Miami Heat. Similarly, it remains to be seen how the Heat will matchup at the center position with other contenders in the East, such as the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics. Nonetheless, LeBron James and company can be expected to steamroll the Hornets on Thursday night if they play up to their potential.
