Considering that the Cleveland Cavaliers lost reigning MVP LeBron James this summer, very few expected the franchise from Ohio to lead the Central Division after two weeks of regular season action. Yet, Antawn Jamison and company posted a respectable 3-3 record to start the season and showed that they are still a well functioning unit. Thus, the Cleveland Cavaliers will host Devin Harris and the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday at 11 p.m. GMT.
In contrast, the Nets got off to a good start with two straight wins but then slowed down and ended up losing four consecutive games. One key problem remains New Jersey's stagnant offense and the team's inability to close out contested games. That said, one has to keep in mind that the Nets lost 70 games last year and will most likely need some more time to become a playoff team. One positive aspect has been the play of rookie Derrick Favors who put up 9.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in just 22 minutes per contest behind starter Troy Murphy. Taking the aforementioned issues into account, the encounter between the Nets and Cavs still appears to be anyone's game on Wednesday night.
