Despite a rough off-season and the departure of Richard Jefferson and Charlie Villanueva, the Milwaukee Bucks managed to play up to their potential as they rallied to a 4-2 record to start the season. Hoping to extend their three-game winning streak, Brandon Jennings and the Bucks will take on the struggling New Jersey Nets at Izod Center on Thursday at 1 a.m. GMT.

With Michael Redd being sidelined by another knee injury, Villanueva and Sessions signing somewhere else as free agents and Jefferson being traded to the Cavs, very few thought that coach Scott Skiles could transform the Bucks into a somewhat competitive team. Yet, three weeks into the season, Milwaukee has won four out of six games and apparently got away with the biggest steal on draft night. More specifically, rookie point guard Brandon Jennings got off to an incredible career start as he put up 20.7 points, 5.2 assists, 4.3 boards and 1.4 steals. Although he was heavily criticized for opting to play professionally in Europe instead of settling for NCAA college basketball, it looks like he benefited from having played on a professional level before entering the NBA. Likewise, Andrew Bogut showed some promising signs early in the season, averaging 15.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.8 blocks per contest.

The New Jersey Nets on the other hand experienced the worst season start in franchise history as they lost nine games in a row and currently rank last in the NBA. That said, it should be mentioned that franchise centerpiece Devin Harris only appeared in two games before suffering a groin injury that will keep him off the floor for another three weeks. Similarly, Courtney Lee also missed three game times and will most likely be a game-time decision when the Bucks and Nets meet on Thursday. Unfortunately, said injuries might explain the poor performance of Lawrence Frank’s team to some extent but do not help them to get back on track. Most importantly, the Nets will have to find a way to put up more points per game as they average only 85 points per contest which makes it nearly impossible to defeat their competitors. Taking everything into consideration, the Milwaukee Bucks appear to be everyone’s favorites to secure a road win in New Jersey. Ultimately, the Bucks have shown significantly better ball movement at the offensive end while the shorthanded Nets struggled to find the basket.
