While the Hornets' front-office is hoping for the franchise to get back to the playoffs after acquiring Trevor Ariza in the off-season, Chris Paul and company have yet to play up to their potential. Especially the team's 50-point blowout loss versus the Magic was an obvious setback and showed that there are still some issues that have to be addressed before the 2010-11 season gets underway. Thus, Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets will try to secure their first preseason win when they face the Indiana Pacers on Friday at 11 p.m. GMT.

Much like New Orleans, the Pacers are not happy with their performance in the preseason so far either, as the team around All-Star Danny Granger dropped three games in a row, including a humiliating 92-126 loss versus the Houston Rockets. Even though sophomore guard Darren Collison averaged 11.0 points and 3.3 assists in 24 minutes per game, there is no doubt that the young point guard can play more efficiently than he did so far. Likewise, James Posey has yet to show that he deserves extended playing time as the veteran forward has been shooting just 18% from the floor. Therefore, the Pacers will try to avoid yet another loss when the Hornets are in town on Friday night.
