Although the Thunder dropped two in a row versus the Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies this week, the franchise is very confident that coach Scott Brooks squad will be in shape on opening night. That said, sophomore guard James Harden could be ready for a bigger role in this year's NBA campaign, as he showed some progress in the preseason, averaging 17.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest. Thus, Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder will head to Texas to face the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday at 0:30 a.m. GMT.
Considering that the Spurs were looking forward to seeing recently acquired Tiago Splitter in action, it was certainly disappointing news that the Brazilian center strained his right plantaris and was unable to play in the preseason. In his absence, DeJuan Blair demonstrated that he further elevated his game in the off-season and played excellent basketball at both ends of the floor, averaging 15.3 points and 7.0 rebounds. Likewise, big man Marcus Cousins still has a shot at making San Antonio's roster due to his ability to get on the boards. Either way, fans can look forward to an entertaining basketball game between two of the best teams in the Western Conference on Tuesday night.
