Even though the Magic failed to repeat their run to the NBA Finals last year, the franchise from southern Florida is confident that their current group of players is capable of competing for a championship in 2010-11. Thus, Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic will make their way to Texas to meet the Houston Rockets in a preseason match on Wednesday at 0:30 a.m. GMT.

Much like in the past, the Rockets' success was once again limited by an injury of franchise cornerstone Yao Ming who missed the entire last year. With Yao back on the court, Houston is hoping to get back to the playoff mix in the Western Conference and possibly become a contender. To take some pressure of Yao Ming and to limit his playing time, the Rockets decided to sign Brad Miller to a three year deal worth $15 million. Similarly, Orlando also resisted the temptation to make any significant changes and will enter this year's NBA campaign with Dwight Howard and Vince Carter leading the Magic. Taking everything into account, both teams could find themselves on a fairly leveling playing field when the game gets underway at Toyota Center on Wednesday night.
