Where as the Raptors looked very good in their first two preseason games, the team of coach Jay Triano failed to show any consistency at either end of the floor versus the Chicago Bulls earlier this week. Most importantly, the absence of former centerpiece Chris Bosh limited the Raps to perimeter isolation plays instead of scoring in the low-post area. Thus, the Toronto Raptors will try to figure out their offensive schemes when they take on Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns on Sunday at 7 a.m. GMT.
Even though many experts reasoned that the Suns were going to struggle in the upcoming NBA season after losing All-Star forward Amar'e Stoudemire this summer, things might turn out differently down the stretch. More specifically, the Suns' off-season pickups Josh Childress and Hakim Warrick both seem to be perfect fits for Phoenix' run-and-gun offense as both players like to push the ball in transition. Moreover, they bring a much needed defensive mindset and should improve the Suns' perimeter defense. In contrast, it remains to be seen whether Hedo Turkoglu will be able to play like he used to in Orlando as Phoenix will continue to run their offense through Steve Nash. Taking the way both sides like to play into account, fans around the world can expect exciting up-tempo basketball when the preseason game between the Suns and Raptors gets underway on Sunday.
