Albeit Dallas did not play bad at all in game three, the team around All-Star Dirk Nowitzki ultimately failed to take a commanding 3-0 lead and helped their opponents to get their confidence back. Thus, Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks will take on the Portland Trail Blazers at American Airlines Center on Tuesday at 0:30 a.m. GMT.
After two wins for the Mavs in game one and two, everything pointed to a rather short playoff series between Portland and Dallas in the first round. However, coach Nate McMillan was able to address a few areas of concern and helped his team to play better across the board which resulted in a convincing 97-92 win on Friday. That said, Portland will need Brandon Roy to continue contributing off the bench as well as LaMarcus Aldridge to step up in the fourth quarter. Looking for a win in game five, the Blazers will head back to Texas hoping to give the Mavericks a run for their money on Tuesday night.

While there is no doubt that LaMarcus Aldrige has become Portland’s go-to-guy down the line, the absence of any scoring from the wing position hurt the Blazers dramatically in game one. Highly motivated to put more pressure on Dallas’ undersized guards, Brandon Roy and the Portland Trail Blazers will visit the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. GMT.
Despite heavy criticism regarding Dallas’ focus on jumpshooting instead of low-post basketball, the Mavs managed to prove their critics wrong when they beat the Blazers in their home opener this weekend. Even more remarkable is the fact that the Mavericks were able to clinch said victory despite Dirk Nowitzki going 7-of-20 and Jason Terry 2-of-5 from the field. Therefore, coach Rick Carlisle’s squad is very confident to keep rolling as such offensive draughts do not happen frequently in Dallas. Similarly, Jason Kidd evidently found his shooting touch again and knocked down no less than six three pointers in game one. Thus, it appears to be a reasonable assumption that Portland will once again have a tough time when they face Dirk Nowitzki and company in game two on Wednesday.

Once again cursed by injuries to key players, the Blazers did an amazing job of staying extremely competitive in 2010-11, partially due to the improvements of Wesley Matthews and Rudy Fernandez. Thus, Brandon Roy and the Portland Trail Blazers will meet the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center on Sunday at 1 a.m. GMT.
Given the fact that the Mavericks experienced three first-round disasters in the past four years, many experts feel that Dallas might be bound for another early playoff exit in this year’s NBA campaign. Much like in the past, the squad around All-Star power forward Dirk Nowitzki remains a jumpshooting team that rarely gets easy buckets in the paint. Moreover, they lost some defensive toughness when Caron Butler went down with a torn ACL halfway through the season while shooting guard Rodrigue Beaubois was not able to live up to everyone’s expectations either. That said, the Mavs are a better defensive team due to the addition of Tyson Chandler and the play of DeShawn Stevenson at times. Considering that Dallas lost twice to the Blazers in March and April, the franchise from Northern Texas will certainly have to bring its A-game on Sunday night.

After a series of disappointing losses in the first month of regular season action, the Blazers have been playing better as of late and managed to win four straight last week. Hoping to continue their way up the standings in the West, the Portland Trail Blazers will meet Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday at 2:30 a.m. GMT.
Without any doubts, the Mavs’ front-office could have hardly hoped for a better start into the 2010-11 season. Holding on to an impressive 19-4 record, Dirk Nowitzki and company showcased extremely efficient basketball at both ends of the floor as they established themselves in the upper echelon of the Western Conference. One key to success has been Dallas’ willingness to share the ball and to give up a good shot for a better shot. Once again in the race for the sixth man of the year award is shooting guard Jason Terry who put up 16.0 points, 4.3 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 32 minutes per contest. Taking the Mavericks’ dominant performance up to this point into consideration, Brandon Roy and company will most likely have tough time avoiding a loss at American Airlines center on Thursday.
