San Antonio Spurs v Golden State Warriors Live
Whereas the Warriors 18-23 record is not spectacular, the team around Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry has been playing a lot better than last season and could compete for the eight playoff seed in the West down the stretch. Hoping to dodge a bullet, David Lee and the Golden State Warriors will host the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday at 3:30 a.m. GMT.
Without any doubts, the Spurs’ performance has been simply spectacular in the first half of this year’s NBA campaign. Coming off a seventh place Western Conference finish in 2009-10, Tim Duncan and company improved their overall play by leaps and bounds and rallied to a 36-6 record and are no less than six games ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers. Most importantly, San Antonio’s success was the result of unselfish team basketball led by veterans Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Tim Duncan. Especially Duncan did an exceptional job of accepting his changing role as he is approaching the end of his Hall of Fame career. Considering these circumstances, the Warriors will probably have a tough time trying to avoid a home loss on Tuesday night.

1st December 2010
Despite a great start into this year’s NBA campaign, the Warriors lost some of their momentum as they lost seven of their last ten games. That said, one should take into account that franchise cornerstone David Lee missed the last two weeks due to a nagging injury and was a big reason for Golden State’s recent struggles. Therefore, the Golden State Warriors are hoping to play better basketball when Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs are in town on Wednesday at 3:30 a.m. GMT.
In contrast, the Spurs are extremely content with the way things have been going in 2010-11 as the team around Manu Ginobili rallied to a 14-2 record and lead the entire league after one month of regular season action. Most importantly, point guard Tony Parker played much better than last year and put up 17.9 points, 7.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 33 minutes per contest. Likewise, Richard Jefferson and Manu Ginobili also elevated their level of play and helped Greg Popovich’s squad to an early lead in the competitive Southwest Division. Thus, the Spurs will be everyone’s favorites when their encounter with Monta Ellis and company gets underway on Wednesday night.
