While many doubted the Raptors' ability perform defensively, the team around Chris Bosh proved their critics wrong as they rallied to a 101-91 win versus the Cleveland Cavaliers on opening night. Holding the Cavs to 35% from the field, Jay Triano's squad showed a high energy level at the defensive end of the floor and looked much better than last year. Thus, the Raps will travel to Memphis Grizzlies where they will take on Rudy Gay and the Grizzlies on Saturday at midnight GMT.

Much like the Raptors, the Memphis Grizzlies are hoping to be back in the playoff race after a rather unsatisfying 24-58 record in 2008-09. That said, the Grizzlies' front-office did a great job of improving the team during the off-season. More specifically, GM Chris Wallace brought in former All-Star and future Hall of Famer Allen Iverson who is expected to provide some veteran leadership for Memphis' young squad. Likewise, the Grizzlies acquired Zach Randolph from the Los Angeles Clippers to further strengthen their front-court. Considering that Marc Gasol and Hasheem Thabeet have yet to play up to their potential, Randolph could be an important piece to facilitate their development.

Unfortunately for the Grizzlies, they will most likely have to face the Raptors without Allen Iverson who is still nursing a minor injury. Considering how poorly Memphis executed in their loss versus the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, they might have a tough time overcoming Chris Bosh and company. Especially the Raptors' deep bench could be a factor since the Grizzlies will have to rely on rookies to make plays versus Jarret Jack, Marco Belinelli and Antoine Wright. Likewise, Andre Bargnani can be expected to draw Marc Gasol out to the perimeter to open up the paint for DeMar Derozan and Chris Bosh.
