Even though the Toronto Raptors struggled considerably in the first two months of play, they managed to improve significantly as the season went on and rallied all the way to the fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Hoping to steal one on the road, Chris Bosh and the Toronto Raptors will make their way to Newark to take on the New Jersey Nets on Saturday at 1 a.m. GMT.

While the Raps' management is fairly content with the way things panned out, the Nets' fanbase has very little to be excited about these days. More precisely, New Jersey is well on its way to set a new record for fewest wins in the regular season. Four months into the season, the team around Devin Harris is holding on to the last place in the NBA as they posted a horrific 4-48 record. Albeit the Nets' front-office was well aware that this year would be tough after they traded Vince Carter to Orlando, they certainly did not anticipate the extent of their problems. That said, sophomore center Brook Lopez was one of the few bright spots as he continues to develop, putting up 18.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and and 1.9 blocks in 37 minutes per contest.

In contrast, the Raptors off-season acquisitions are already paying dividends, especially Hedo Turkoglu, Jarret Jack and Sonny Weems have become essential parts of Jay Triano's rotation. Likewise, rookie guard Demar DeRozan has shown a lot of potential and has been playing solid at both ends of the floor in limited minutes. Once again leading the franchise from Ontario is power forward Chris Bosh who established himself as one of the best offensive players in the NBA, averaging 24.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. Considering the performance of both teams so far, there is no doubt that the Raptors will enter their encounter with the Nets as undisputed favorites to clinch a win on Saturday night. Most importantly, New Jersey has been struggling to find the basket consistently up to this point and will most likely be unable to contain the Raps' high-scoring offense.
