Considering the Knicks' complete roster overhaul this summer, it is no surprise that the team of coach Mike D'Antoni struggled a bit early in the preseason as they are trying to get everyone on the same page. Most importantly, point guard Raymond Felton will have to get used to the Knicks' up-tempo offense and distributing the ball in transition instead of slowing the game down to half-court sets. Thus, Amar'e Stoudemire and the New York Knicks will host the Washington Wizards at Madison Square Garden on Sunday at 10 p.m. GMT.
Judging by the Wizards' performance in the preseason so far, the franchise from D.C. could finally be on its way out of the slump that kept the team around Gilbert Arenas at the bottom of the Eastern Conference over the last two years. More precisely, number one overall pick John Wall seems to be a natural leader on the floor and has the tools to become a great player at both ends of the floor. So far, Wall averaged 15.8 points, 7.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game and led Washington to a 3-1 record in the preseason. Likewise, center Javale McGee has emerged as one of the league's premier shot blockers and likes to run the floor in transition. Therefore, the Wizards will most likely be a tough challenge for the Knicks on Sunday night.
