Chris Kamen of the Los Angeles Clippers Out For Three More Weeks At Least
The twenty eight year old apparently has a bone bruise on his ankle as well as a sprained ligament according to a statement by the Clippers on Friday. Chris Kamen said that he was disappointed as well as frustrated that he would have to wait longer than previously thought, but he conceded that injuries are part of being involved in the game of basketball. According to coach Vinny Del Negro, Kaman has to stay off of his ankle for a couple of weeks and then spend a week training afterward to determine if he will be able to play. The Clippers have struggled this year, right now 5 to 18 for their record, and have been plagued by injuries to several different players this season. However, according to coach Del Negro, they must manage with the healthy players that they have. One of those is backup center DeAndre Jordan, who is averaging 5.1 points per game, 5.4 rebounds and 20.2 minutes. The coach commented that they would need Jordan to play at a higher level now that he was taking over for Kaman. Kaman averaged 10.5 points per game and 7.1 rebounds the last 10 games.
