Pre-Draft trade talks picking up

Chris BoshGiven the fact that the upcoming 2010 draft and subsequent free agency market is bound to change the destiny of various franchises drastically, it is no surprise that teams around the league are already trying to put themselves in a solid position come draft night.

According to source closes to the Miami Heat front-office, the franchise from Southern Florida is looking to shed further payroll in order to gain even more cap space. Considering that the Heat already have enough cap room to add one max. contract while retaining the services of franchise cornerstone Dwayne Wade, such a move would open up interesting possibilities. More precisely, all the sudden, a trio consisting of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade does not seem completely utopian anymore. However, thus far the Heat had little luck as the New Jersey Nets opted to turn their offer of trading Michael Beasley for Keyon Dooling down.

Similarly, the Minnesota Timberwolves appear to be highly interested in acquiring Anthony Randolph from the Golden State Warriors. Considering that the Warriors struggled terribly over the past two years and are about to change owners and management, it is fairly obvious that nearly everyone is up for sale in Oakland these days. That said, no details have been made public yet, although it is certainly possible that such a deal could involve the Wolves' fourth and the Warriors' sixth overall pick being switched. In 2009-10, Anthony Randolph averaged 11.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in just 22 minutes per contest before experiencing a season ending injury to his right ankle.
