Wizards set on rebuilding around Wall
Considering that the team horribly failed to bounce back last year as they spent another season at the bottom of the league, many fans around the league thought that the Wizards' front-office might be looking to make some drastic changes as far as their staff is concerned. However, everything points to General Manager Ernie Grunfeld and head coach Flip Saunders both staying put in 2011-12. Likewise, Washington will most likely have to find a role for Gilbert Arenas as trading him does not look very appealing. More precisely, the former All-Star's trade value suffered significantly after being injured for two years and spending most of last year's NBA campaign sidelined due a gun-related suspension. Therefore, it appears to be a justified assumption that his skills on the court exceed whatever the Wizards might be able to get in return for him if they were to settle for a trade. Nonetheless, it remains to be seen whether Arenas will accept his new role as second option behind Wall who is expected to be the starting point guard on opening night. Likewise, it is still up in the air how much of their cap space Washington will be willing to use in the off-season, after all, they have nearly $30 million available and could very well try to bring a new franchise face to D.C.
