LeBron James and Chris Bosh join D Wade in Miami
Considering that several teams spent considerable amounts of time and effort to clear cap space in order to sign LeBron James this summer, there were bound to be some losers. Above all, the New York Knicks appear to be fairly disappointed as they thought that they could lure Chris Bosh and LeBron James to Manhattan with two max. contracts as well as endless marketing opportunities. In order to achieve said goal, GM Donnie Walsh spend the last two years getting rid of previous contracts and sacrificed back-to-back seasons at the bottom of the league. However, the only star calibre free agent the Knicks eventually managed to sign was forward Amar'e Stoudemire. Ultimately the Miami Heat emerged as winners of the LeBron sweepstakes as they did not only lure “The King” to Florida but also acquired All-Star Chris Bosh in a sign-and-trade deal with the Toronto Raptors. In 2009-10, LeBron James averaged 29.7 points, 8.6 assists, 7.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest. Likewise, Bosh also put up excellent numbers with 24.0 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 36 minutes per game. Although GM Pat Riley might have to fill the rosters with minimum salary players there is no doubt that the team around Wade, Bosh and James has the potential to win several championship rings over the next few years.
